Our One-day 8 hour program is designed for scouts with previous climbing instruction and have already completed their First Aid Merit Badge. Scouts must possess a working knowledge and ability to inspect basic climbing gear, demonstrate the ability to confidently tie and confidently belay using a variety of belay methods, including aperture devices and assisted locking devices. Course Instructor, Al Wiberg will work with your Scout Leaders to make sure your scouts have the necessary skills for this one day program.

All great journeys begin with a single step…In rock climbing, it is just in the upward direction. The following programs are tailored to meet the requirements from the Boy Scouts of America, Climbing Merit Badge series. The skills you will learn form the foundation of a sport you can enjoy for many years to come. All courses are led by Al Wiberg, PCIA Single Pitch Course Provider and Boy Scouts Merit Badge Counselor.  All equipment: ropes, shoes, harnesses and helmets will be provided.

Our Two-day 16 hour program is designed for scouts with either limited or no previous climbing instruction. Scouts must have already completed their First Aid Merit Badge. Day-one is tailored to meet all experience levels and teach the minimum requirements set by the BSA. Day-two the scouts will demonstrate their knowledge and ability to inspect basic climbing gear, demonstrate the ability to confidently tie, demonstrate a confident belay using a variety of belay methods, including aperture devices and assisted locking devices and the ability to rappel with an independent belay.
